About Us

A Sicilian, an Umbrian, and a lot of leather.

Luigi is from Sicily. Katiuscia is from Umbria. They ended up in Venice — which is already a strange story in itself — and decided to stay.

Since 2010, we've been working in a small workshop in the heart of Dorsoduro, just a few steps from Ca' Rezzonico, where the smell of leather mixes with the salty air drifting in through the window.

Il Graffio — a name with a soul.

The name was already there when we took over the shop. We could have changed it, but it felt right to keep it. Over time, we understood why: a graffio — a scratch, a mark — is something that stays. It's what colour does to monotony: a sharp, impossible-to-ignore sign.

It became our way of working.

We used to be more normal.

For years we worked with a sober palette. Classic. The colours you'd expect from a Venetian leather shop: black, cognac, a few neutrals.

Then the world stopped. When it started again, we had made a decision: more colour. Much more colour. Arctic green, bubble pink, Prussian blue, pistachio yellow. Colours you don't expect, that make you raise an eyebrow and then smile.

Because after a grey period, the last thing we wanted was to keep making grey things.

How we work.

Just the two of us, together. The designs, the cutting, the stitching, the colours. There's no strict division of roles — mostly we try not to get in each other's way in the same square metre of workshop.

Every colour tells something about the person who chooses it. You can't always explain why that green and not another — but when you see it, you recognise yourself in it. With over 60 colours available, our job is to make sure yours is there.

How many colours, exactly?

Over 60. We know, it's excessive. We don't mind.

If you're curious, here's the full colour chart. If you're looking for something specific you don't see online, just get in touch — we can usually make it happen.

Come and find us.

We're in Calle delle Botteghe, Dorsoduro 3186. If you get lost — which is likely, you're in Venice — ask for Ca' Rezzonico and we're two minutes from there.

If you'd rather stay online, write to us on WhatsApp, send us an email, or ask for a video call to see the colours in person. As if you were here with us.

Thank you so much for choosing us.
